Dear Merivale Garden Residents:
Dues Street Representatives will be coming to your house in the month of May to verify names, phone numbers, and email addresses of people living in your household. This will ensure we have the correct information for those who wish to be on the Merivale Gardens Google Email List and will ensure we have the correct information for our Community Watch Program and the Emergency Preparedness Plan. We will only ask for this information once per year.
The Dues cost remains at $10 per year. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or eTransfer. Your street representative will provide you with the name of the payee to put on your cheque or the eTransfer email address. Here is a link to the eTransfer instructions.
Your rep will also explain our new Merivale Gardens Neighborhood Watch Program. You will have the choice whether to opt in or opt out giving your email for the Neighborhood Watch Program. In brief the Neighbourhood Watch program is a community-based crime prevention program where residents actively participate in reducing crime and creating a safer environment by working together to watch out for each other's properties and reporting suspicious activity.
We would also like to know if you have any front-facing security cameras, so we can pass this information on to the Ottawa Police Service.
Your rep will also ask who in your household is trained in First Aid/CPR. This information is for the development of the Merivale Gardens Emergency Preparedness Plan.
Thank you for your cooperation in this worthy endeavor.
Lynn Joseph
